Blue Origin CEO Smith to step down

Bob Smith will step down as Blue Origin CEO effective Dec. 4. He will be replaced by Dave Limp, the Amazon executive who oversaw Project Kuiper. Blue Origin has grown from fewer than 1,000 employees to more than 10,000 today. The company also won a NASA award in May to develop a crewed lunar lander.

UAE’s $5 billion commitment opens doors for Yahsat

Yahsat announced a 17-year capacity deal with the UAE government Sept. 22. The deal includes two geostationary satellites slated to launch in 2027 and 2028. Yahsat now has $7 billion of contracted revenues in the pipeline. Yahsat anticipates most of its business will continue coming from governments.
