Senate Appropriations Committee to mark up spending bill on July 25. Leaders say they will increase NASA's budget and protect Artemis lunar exploration campaign. Senators did not describe how their bill might different from House version. House bill provided nearly $25.2 billion for NASA, $205 million below request.

NASA SLS Core Stage headed to KSC for Artemis II

Boeing rolled out the second Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage on July 16. The stage will control the beginning of the Artemis II mission that will send a four-person crew on an Orion spacecraft on a lunar flyby. Launch of Artemis II was retargeted for September 2025 this past January, but NASA is still reviewing results from Artemis I.
