Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has announced the launch of the Middle East’s first dedicated commercial Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite manufacturing facility. The project is delivered in partnership with Space42, the UAE’s AI-powered space technology company with global reach. The facility, to be named Space42 Space Systems, will localize the design, assembly and testing of SAR satellites.

The Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine (RDRE) is aimed at enabling vehicles to travel four to six times the speed of sound from a conventional runway. Hubble Images Galaxies Near and Far

This NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope image features the remote galaxy HerS 020941.1+001557, which appears as a red arc that partially encircles a foreground elliptical galaxy. A third galaxy, called SDSS J020941.23+001600.7, seems to be intersecting part of the curving, red crescent of light created by the distant galaxy. The alignment of this trio of galaxies creates a type of gravitational lens called an Einstein ring.

SpaceX Falcon 9 launched Starlink Group 12-15 to low-Earth orbit (LEO) from Cape Canaveral Space Flight Station in Florida. First of two planned SpaceX launches of Starlink Group 11-16 will occur on Wednesday, May 21, at 2:20 PM PDT (21:20 UTC) at the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. On Friday, a Russian Soyuz 2-M with a unknown payload will launch from the Pacific Ocean.
