Astra founders reduce offer to take company private

Founders of satellite propulsion and launch vehicle company Astra cut offer. Chris Kemp and Adam London slashed by two-thirds their offer to buy outstanding shares of company. In November, Kemp and London proposed to buy Astra shares at $1.50 per share. In new proposal, they are offering only $0.50 per share, down from $1.50 in November.

Intuitive Machines expects early end to IM-1 lunar lander mission

Intuitive Machines says Odysseus lunar lander will communicate for one more day. Company released a low-resolution image taken by the spacecraft after landing. Company also released an image taken during the lander’s descent. IM-1 landing location identified using images from NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.

Tony Frazier takes the helm at LeoLabs

Tony Frazier, who led Maxar Technologies’ Earth Intelligence business, takes the helm March 1. Dan Ceperley, who co-founded LeoLabs in 2016, will become chief operations officer. LeoLabs is at an inflection point in its growth trajectory, Frazier told SpaceNews.

Crew-8 set for March 1 launch to space station

NASA and SpaceX are proceeding with a commercial crew mission to the International Space Station. The launch is scheduled for 12:04 a.m. Eastern March 1 from the Kennedy Space Center. Crew-8 is the latest crew rotation mission to the station. It will carry NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt and Jeanette Epps.
