German startup Dcubed raised 4.4 million euros ($4.8 million) in a Series A funding round. Dcubed’s Westminster, Colorado, office will serve as a sales and distribution hub. To demonstrate in-space manufacturing, Dcubed is buying SpaceX rideshare launches.

Impulse Space is working with Exolaunch on its GEO Rideshare Program. The first mission is scheduled for 2027, using Impulse Space’s Helios vehicle. Helios is a high-energy kick stage powered by liquid oxygen and methane propellants.
Safran to open electric thruster production line in U.S.

Safran Electronics & Defense will open a facility in Colorado to produce electric thrusters. The company expects the first systems to come off that production line in 2026. The American facility will focus on U.S. Government and commercial customers. The French line will focus on customers in the rest of the world.

Leaf Space has deployed its first ground station with a Ka-band link. Leaf Space’s previous 26 antennas only provide services in the S, X and UHF bands. Leaf Space chose Iceland for its first triband Ka, X and S-band antenna. The company plans to install 10 more antennas before the end of the year.

China launched the first batch of its G60 internet satellite constellation on Tuesday. The Long March 6A rocket traveled directly south from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. 108 satellites are expected to be launched this year as part of an initial tranche of 1,296 satellites. Ultimately, the constellation will consist of more than 14,000 low-orbit broadband multimedia satellites.
