NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar, or NISAR satellite, will use advanced radar imaging to map the elevation of Earth’s land and ice masses 4 to 6 times a month at resolutions of 5 to 10 meters. It is designed to observe and measure some of the planet’s most complex natural processes, including ecosystem disturbances, ice-sheet collapse, and natural hazards such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes and landslides.

Thales Alenia Space has signed a contract with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) to perform the preliminary design phase of the pressurized Multi-Purpose Habitation (MPH) module for the lunar surface. Planned for launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in 2033, the MPH module will be the first dedicated habitation asset on the lunar surface.

Gilmour Space is preparing to launch its homegrown Eris rocket on July 29. The company had previously planned to launch on July 16 but had pushed the attempt back, citing operational delays and unfavorable wind forecasts. The company’s Bowen Orbital Spaceport is situated at Abbot Point, north of the coastal town of Bowen in North Queensland, Australia. Eris will fly on a northeasterly trajectory over the Coral Sea and hopes to reach low-Earth orbit (LEO) on its first attempt.
