Stratolaunch performs first powered Talon flight

Stratolaunch conducted the first powered flight of its Talon vehicle March 9. The vehicle reached "high supersonic" Speeds in the uncrewed test. The company's next vehicle, TA-2, is its first reusable hypersonic vehicle. It is scheduled to begin flight tests in the second half of the year.

Blue Origin expects to launch the first version of its Blue Moon lunar lander in 2025. The lander is a precursor to a future crewed lunar lander it is developing for NASA. Blue Origin won a $3.4 billion NASA contract in May 2023 to develop that lander.

Space One is planning Japan’s first private-sector orbital launch with the debut of its small satellite launcher. This will also be the maiden flight from a new, dedicated, launch facility. The maiden flight of the new launcher was expected to take place on Saturday local time from the Space One launch pad, prior to scrubbing during two attempts. Space One will re-attempt on March 13.
