Replacement Soyuz arrives at space station

Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft docked with the station's Poisk module at 7:58 p.m. Eastern. The spacecraft had launched two days earlier on a Soyuz-2.1a rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Instead of a crew, it carried about 430 kilograms of cargo to the station.

Space Force looks to energize industry with next round of launch contracts

U.S. Space Force officials will meet with industry executives this week to discuss launch procurement. Space Force plans to attract new launch providers to compete for as many as 70 missions. Much of the available launch supply in the near term was gobbled up by Amazon's Projet Kuiper.

The companies will build and manage local gateway infrastructure to enable the delivery of nearly 3.5 gigabits per second of high-powered satellite capacity.

The companies’ collaboration would use portions of Ligado’s 40 MHz of L-band satellite spectrum in the U.S. And Canada and Omnispace’s 60 MHz of S-band satellite spectrum.

Dynamic NASA-Built Weather Sensors Enlisted to Track Tropical Cyclones

COWVR is a weather radiometer developed at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The idea for the mission emerged a decade ago as the U.S. Department of Defense started considering the next generation of instruments. NASA also is exploring the use of data from COWVR and TEMPEST, as well as small satellites like them, for its own weather-related missions.
