Virgin Galactic selects Arizona for spaceplane manufacturing facility

Virgin Galactic says it has started work on a new factory in Mesa, Arizona. The facility is scheduled to be fully operational by late 2023. It will perform final assembly of new Delta-class spaceplanes. The first of those spaceplanes will start flying private astronauts in 2026.

SpaceX launches cargo Dragon mission to ISS

A SpaceX cargo Dragon spacecraft is on its way to the International Space Station. The July 14 launch was delayed more than a month by a hydrazine leak on the spacecraft. The spacecraft is scheduled to dock with the station at about 11:20 a.m. Eastern July 16. The launch was the 30th so far this year for SpaceX, versus 31 for all of 2021.

SpaceX launched a Dragon cargo ship toward the International Space Station in a fiery twilight departure Thursday from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. The 5,881 pounds (2,668 kilograms) of cargo headed off on a day-and-a-half pursuit of the space station with a successful launch. Docking at the space station is set for 11:20 a.m. EDT (1520 GMT) Saturday.

India launched its 55th Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) – in its Core Alone (CA) configuration – carrying nine payloads to a low Earth orbit (LEO) These included POEM, to demonstrate using the fourth stage as a hosted payload bus. PSLV-C53 launched from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on June 30, 2022.
