Greece signs Artemis Accords

Greece is the 35th country to sign the Artemis Accords. The Accords outline best practices for sustainable space exploration. Greece is the second European country in as many months to sign the Accords. The document is intended to build upon the principles of the Outer Space Treaty.

Satellite operators join forces to chase direct-to-smartphone opportunity

Viasat, Terrestar Solutions, Ligado Networks, Omnispace, Yahsat join forces. They say they hold more than 100 megahertz of L- and S-band spectrum. They say it could help extend terrestrial cellular networks worldwide. Iridium Communications is notably absent from the partnership.

Axiom Space’s Ax-3 crew returned to Earth on Friday, reporting that they were all OK after spending 17 days on the International Space Station. SpaceX’s recovery vessel Shannon, named after Shannon Walker who was the first female NASA astronaut who flew on SpaceX’s Dragon capsule during the Crew-1 mission, received the crew.

Falcon 9 launched 22 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Falcon 9’s first stage came back to Earth about 8.5 minutes after lifting off for a landing on the droneship Of Course I Still Love You, which was stationed in the Pacific Ocean. This was the 14th flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched NROL-87, NROL-85, SARah-1, SWOT, Transporter-8, Transporter-9, and now eight Starlink missions.
