Terran Orbital is one of 12 companies awarded a position on the Space Test Experiments Platform (STEP) 2.0 contract. STEP 2.0 is designed to streamline the path from concept to orbit for Department of Defense experiments. China plans a Monday launch of its Long March 12 carrier rocket from Wenchang Space Launch Site, of SatNet LEO Group. China’s goal is to create a global broadband internet network that will total 12,992 satellites. These launches are designed to compete with other constellations such as SpaceX’s Starlink and Amazon’s Project Kuiper.
